Crows Feet + Brow Lift
Crows Feet are the wrinkles that develop in the corners of the eyes from repeated muscle activity caused by squinting, and are sometimes also called Laugh Lines or Character Lines. Placing Botox in the crows feet helps to relax the muscle around the eye which smooths out the skin and gives a younger appearance to the face. Botox can also be strategically placed in the muscle around the eye to give a beautiful definition to the eyebrow, enhancing the arch.
Injecting Botox in a few areas above the upper lip can turn the lip upwards and make it appear fuller.
A gummy smile occurs when the top lip extends past the teeth with smiling. Injecting Botox relaxes the muscles that pull the lip upwards and keeps the gums covered during smiling.
Drooping of the corners of the mouth can make a person appear angry, even through they may not feel that way.
By injecting Botox into the depressor anguli oris (DAO) muscle, the mouth can be restored to a more neutral position and project less negative expression.
Forehead + Frown Lines
The horizontal lines across the forehead are caused from the repeated muscle activity used to raise the eyebrows. Frown lines, also called the "11's", occur from repeated muscle activity between the eyebrows that are seen when the brows are furrowed. Botox in these areas relaxes the muscles responsible for these movements, thereby softening and reducing the appearance of these lines visible in the skin.
This a bulge that forms just below the eye and is worsened with laughing, smiling, or squinting. Botox can help soften this area and make you look more refreshed.
Vertical Lip Lines/Smokers Lines
Wrinkles around the lips can be treated by placing Botox in the muscle that allow the mouth to pucker.
Platysmal bands are the strips of muscle that are formed from the base of the neck up to the jaw that become more prominent as we age. Botox injections can help relax these muscles, resulting in a smoother neck with an improved jawline and overall more youthful appearance.
BOTOX® is an effective treatment for Hyperhidrosis, a condition that causes excessive sweating. This condition can be difficult to manage and can cause significant discomfort, embarrassment and stress. Treatment consists of injections in the underarms, palms, or soles of the feet and works by blocking the chemical signals that stimulate the sweat glands. Effects can provide improvement of bothersome sweating, lasting up to 6 months.
As we age we lose volume in our face, and the chin is no exception. As a result, the appearance of dimples can form and injecting Botox into the mentalis muscle of the chin helps to soften and lessen these dimples.
Botox injections into the masseter muscle can soften the jawline and help balance facial features. In some instances it can also reduce headaches and jaw pain caused by clenching of the teeth.
These are the crinkly lines that appear at the bridge of the nose when you laugh or smile deeply. An injection of Botox on each side can soften these lines.
How Do Dermal Fillers Work?As we age, the skin loses elastin and collagen, and our faces lose volume due to changes in the bone and dropping of fat pads. As a result, we develop more lines and wrinkles as well as sagging skin and the development of jowls. Many of these changes are due to a decrease in the body’s production of Hyaluronic Acid (HA), which is a large part of what keeps skin looking healthy and youthful. Dermal fillers are HA products that are injected directly into areas that are lacking in the body’s natural HA. By replacing HA in these areas, volume is replaced and fine lines and deeper wrinkles are smoothed over and the formation of new lines and wrinkles are prevented.
What Are the Benefits of Dermal Fillers?Dermal filler is an injectable treatment to address common issues that are associated with aging of the face related to loss of volume and decreased skin elasticity. Common areas treated include the cheeks, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, jaw and chin. As well, dermal filler can be placed in the lips to add volume and hydration. Placing filler in these areas helps to add contour to the face and soften the lines and wrinkles.
What Are Some Risks of Dermal Fillers?Remember, this is a medical procedure and while rare, dermal fillers can inadvertently be placed in a blood vessel. This causes a vascular occlusion and can result in stroke, vision loss, infection, and necrosis of the skin. The key to managing vascular occlusions is prevention and early recognition and treatment. This is discussed in detail at your consultation and during the consent process. Vascular occlusion needs to be managed by prompt recognition and dissolving of the filler. Other risks include pain, bleeding and bruising, as well as risks of allergy and infection.
Who Should Not Have a Dermal Filler Treatment:Some patients are not ideal candidates for dermal fillers due to associated medical conditions or medications. If any of the above apply to you, please reach out before your appointment. Allergy to Lidocaine Allergy to Hyaluronic Acid Autoimmune disease (please consult with your specialist prior to treatment to ensure you are not considered to be in a “flare”) Recent vaccine within 2 weeks of treatment Active infection Recent dental work within 2 weeks of treatment Anticoagulation (blood thinner medication) – please check with your prescriber to ensure you are able to stop this medication prior to treatment Under age 21
When Are Results Seen From Dermal Filler Treatment? You will see immediate results from your dermal filler treatment. Keep in mind that you may need more than one syringe or treatment session to achieve your desired effect. Over the next few weeks the results will start to take shape and the filler will settle in beautifully with your skin.
Will I Look Overdone? No! At Renewing Confidence Medical Aesthetics, we take a conservative approach and start with low dosing that can be adjusted over time to achieve your desired result.
